کمپانی RED با تولید دوربین دیجیتال سینمایی KOMODO 6K، کیفیت تصویر و دانش رنگ را تا حد چشمگیری ارتقاء داده است. بدنه دوربین طراحی جمع و جوری دارد و وزن آن فقط ۹۵۰ گرم است. دوربین به مانت لنز Canon RF و سنسور Super35 CMOS با کیفیت ۱۹٫۹ مگاپیکسل با فناوری Global Shutter مجهز می باشد. این سنسور می تواند تصاویری با +۱۶ داینامیک رنج ثبت کرده و اعوجاجات ناشی از رولینگ شاتر را از بین ببرد. علاوه بر این، کاربران این دوربین می توانند ویدئوهایی با کیفیت های ۶K و سرعت ۴۰ فریم در ثانیه، ۵K و سرعت ۴۸ فریم در ثانیه، ۴K و سرعت ۶۰ فریم در ثانیه، و ۲K با سرعت ۱۲۰ فریم در ثانیه ضبط کنند. این ویدئوها برای ارائه انعطاف بیشتر در مرحله ویرایش با فرمت REDCODE RAW ضبط می شوند.
با استفاده از دوربین RED KOMODO می توانید اطلاعات را با حداکثر سرعت ۲۸۰ مگابایت بر ثانیه روی کارت CFast 2.0ذخیره کنید. علاوه بر این، صفحه نمایش ۲٫۹ اینچی دوربین با رزولوشن ۱۴۴۰×۱۴۴۰ باعث آسانتر شدن نظارت بر فیلمبرداری می شود. با سیستم کنترل RED هم می توانید از دستگاه های اندرویدی یا iOS برای پیش نمایش و اعمال تنظیمات استفاده کنید. این کار از طریق اتصال Wi-Fi با فرکانس ۲٫۴ و ۵ گیگاهرتز امکانپذیر خواهد بود. کنترل با کابل هم به وسیله پورت USB Type-C و آداپتورهای اختیاری انجام می شود.
کاربرد مانت لنز Canon RF باعث کوچکتر شدن اندازه دوربین KOMODO شده و امکان سازگاری با طیف وسیعی از لنزها را با آداپتورهای مختلف فراهم می کند. مانت از لنزهای مکانیکی RF و EF هم پشتیبانی می کند. اولین بار است که دوربین های RED قابلیت استفاده از اتوفوکوس تشخیص فاز را با لنزهای سازگار به کاربران ارائه می دهند. سیستم های تشخیص فاز به دلیل سرعت بالا در اندازه گیری و مقایسه فاصله معروف هستند و یک سیستم قابل اطمینان و دقیق برای تولید ویدئو به شمار می روند. به علاوه می توان از نمایشگر لمسی برای تغییر سریع فوکوس و انتخاب سوژه ها استفاده کرد.
RED گزینه های فشرده سازی را ساده کرده و امکان انتخاب بین گزینه های HQ، MQ و LQ را ارائه می دهد. به این ترتیب می توانید بهترین گزینه را برای موضوع کار خود انتخاب کنید. افرادی که می خواهند از فرمت های معمول تری استفاده کنند، می توانند ضبط ویدئو را با فرمت های Apple ProRes 422 HQ و ۴۲۲ استاندارد با حداکثر کیفیت DCI 4K انجام دهند.
KOMODO یک دوربین همه کاره است و پورت ها و اتصالات لازم از جمله میکروفون های استریوی یکپارچه، ورودی صدای ۳٫۵ میلیمتری، پورت EXT و پورت ۱۲G-SDI را در اختیار کاربران قرار می دهد. دو باتری Canon BP-9xx هم در پشت دوربین قرار می گیرند.

The new sensor in KOMODO is a 6K S35 global shutter sensor that breaks new technical ground by eliminating the need to sacrifice dynamic range and meets the RED standard of unmatched imagery without any creative or technical compromises. KOMODO also features a built-in Canon RF mount allowing users the flexibility to use numerous different lens adapters, such as Canon EF, PL and Leica M mount. KOMODO also has a DC IN power port and can also be powered using two Canon BP style batteries. In-Camera Language Support: English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, German, Spanish, French NOTE: The KOMODO 6K has an adaptable RF lens mount.
